| It appears that there is no one defining moment in time when fetish wear emerged, but whilst corsets and hobble skirts were popular in the 18th century, it wasn't until just after World War Two that gay men started wearing leather in order to differentiate themselves from mainstream society. Vivenne Westwood and Malcolm McClaren were probably the first to introduce bondage inspired clothing into fashion in the late 1970s. |
