Word up from the key carrying gatekeepers of The Gate!

The Gate Club was started some 18 years ago by Master Keith, a stalwart on the Fetish Scene for over 30 years. It was started as a players club for members and their guests. Everyone was vetted and if your name was not on the door list, you didn't even get the address of the venue! Over the years The Gate has enjoyed many venues for it's monthly events, from Smithys Wine Bar, The Fringe & now using the Resistance Gallery in Bethnal Green, and even that is evolving! Changes have already been made to the venue since The Gate's event there in August 2011.

Events are usually held once a month on the last Saturday but please do check The Gate Club website for details and dates. The Gate is still primarily a players club and we still see alot of the first visitors from the early days of The Gate. Some months there are Fetish Cabarets, other months there are demos - from Rope Bondage through to Medical Play & allsorts in between, and Master Keith and his co-hort and right hand woman, Joy, are always on hand to give out help and advice on all aspects of BDSM play... We are also planning a fashion show like no other for early 2012 !!!!

What can I expect at The Gate?

We do have a strict Fetish Dress code, but as long as you are not wearing jeans, t-shirts and trainers or street wear, pretty much anything goes, after all who are we to tell someone dressed in a boiler suit that they cannot come in if their fetish is boiler suits !!.. The visitors to the Gate come from all walks of life, some are brand new to the scene , some have been in it for over 30 years, & it is the diversity of our patrons that makes The Gate a special place to be..

Who runs this play club? Who is behind The Gate?

Both Master Keith and Joy visit other clubs, Fetish Markets and after parties and are happy to chat to people about their lives in the scene and about The Gate. It had evolved over the years but one thing has stayed always, the friendliness and fun to be had at the events !!, just listening to Master Keith's stories of some of his antics within the scene over the years has people laughing and wanting to hear more, and Joy is a bundle of fun also, often to be found holding court and telling her own stories of life in the scene ...

It is never easy running a Fetish club, and its not for the money either, but to meet other like minded folks, teach newbie's, mingle and even learn new things, but, that is all part of it all, yes it is tiring, setting up, running the club until the early hours, taking everything down and finally falling into bed around 7am the next day, the promoting, the planning, its non stop but worth all the effort when people come over and say " what a brilliant night we have had at The Gate tonight, thank you for everything".

You cannot please all of the people all of the time but, hell its such fun trying !! (quote from Joy)
