Satin back, lined front and choice of colours
This waistcoat is simply a must-have for any Urban Squire or dandy. The relatively plain, but fully lined, front, with it's self welt watch pocket and (hidden) button up front, is in contrast to the detail on the satin back of the waistcoat. With the use of mitred binding, the upper section of the centre back is split and the gap is bridged with buttonhole elastic. This not only has aesthetic appeal, it also allows for a degree of stretch across the upper back. On the lower back, the inverted dartsact as stands onto which buttons are sewn. A clever combination of buttonhole elastic and double dee rings are then used to attached webbing straps across the lower back section. These can be used to further tailor the waistcoat to fit the wearer.
The front of the waistcoat has a lining to match the back, but detail here is kept to a minimum, with just a small self welt pocket (approximately credit card sized). The waistcoat is fastened at the centre front with buttons which become hidden from view when secured through their alternate holes in the strip of buttonhole elastic on the inside of the front right hand side of the waistcoat front.

All buttons on both the front and back of the Urban Squire waistcoat are sewn on by hand rather than by machine as we feel that this makes them more secure.
