Zip out, fully lined centre back panel

The Urban Squire kilt is quite distinct from a traditional kilt; some may even say it is a bit of a cheeky chappie; as it features a fully lined centre back panel that can be unzipped from the bottom up either to create splits, as high as you dare, to flash a bit of leg or lining, or to completely remove the back panel to reveal some bare, or scantily clad, cheek!

Elastic straps, attached via double dee rings to the main part of the kilt, not only provide extra detail over the bum, they also help to hold the shape of the kilt when the centre back panel is fully removed.

Fully lined centre front overlaps

The two centre front overlap panels are also fully lined with good quality acetate satin, and two webbing retaining straps are clipped into black side release buckles. There are 5 black plastic side release buckles on the kilt as standard - two for the retaining straps, two on the belt, and one on the sporran. If, however, you would prefer metal side release buckle, these are are an option for an extra £12.50.

Side pleats pressed and top stitched

During the making process, we press all the pleats into the side panels, overlock the edges and then top stitch all the pleats so that they stay in place. We feel that this makes the kilt a lot easier for you to maintain.

Double layer 2" webbing belt

Once the pleated side panels and the fully lined centre front overlap panels have been sewn together, the top edge of this main part of the kilt is overlocked and then sandwiched between two lengths of 2" webbing, which forms the belt (the centre back panel is not attached to the belt). A piece of velcro is used to secure the overlaps of the belt together, and the end of the belt is fastened using two side release buckles (black plastic ones as standard, or metal ones as an added extra).
