| Whitby Goth Weekend |
|
|
The Whitby Goth Weekend is an institution among those of a 'darker nature'. WGW has been running since 1994 and is held in this small north Yorkshire town partly because of Whitby's links to Bram Stoker's Dracula. In 1997, the Whitby Goth festival became so popular that it became a twice yearly event (April and October). Goths of all types - trad goths, horror goths, corporate goths, emo goths - take over the town to enjoy socialising, live bands, DJs and other forms of entertainment. There are various venues and markets around Whitby for the weekend. Jed Phoenix of London's clothes have been worn by various festival goers for many years and in October 2008, Jed joined them by taking a stall in the smaller room in the Leisure Centre. Jed Phoenix of London will have a stall in the main room of the Leisure Centre, West Cliff, Whitby, YO21 3HT at the April 2009 WGW. |
