I find it hard to separate work and life - I love both and spend lots of time doing both. Some of my ideas for designs come about during play, or thoughts of play; others from the pure need for new and blooming well made clothes that fit those who aren't the 'average' size.

To me, investing in myself is an investment in the company. It's easy to burn out being self employed, so I need myself, as an integral part of Jed Phoenix of London, to be sustainable and viable, and this involves a natural and holistic approach to health and well-being, eating organic wholefood, meditating, using herbs such as burdock root and red clover. This translates into my work both in the studio and at events - it's an organic evolution that is very hands on and empowering. I love the fact that I have input at every stage of the garment making process - designing, buying fabics and trimmings, drafting patterns, sewing the sample, cutting pattern pieces etc - as well as editing the website and selling at events.Jed Phoenix licking the company van

My roles are pretty varied, so I have lots to keep me interested and focused on moving the business forward.

My training has been a little unconventional. Click here to find out why, and what I did before setting up Jed Phoenix of London.
